Four members of SEBEV attended the UKLSI Search Controllers course in November, together with three established Controllers for refresher training. This was in addition to four members who attended the Team Leaders course. The Saturday night exercise was interrupted when WilSAR received a request for a missing person search in Melksham. Two members of SEBEV assisted and the MISPER was found alive and well after about three hours. Kris Manning, Chairman said "It is very important to us that we maintain the very high levels of service that SEBEV Search & Rescue is known for. UKLSI offers excellent SAR courses in highly specialist subjects such as Search Control & Missing Person Behaviour and we are very pleased to send our members. I am also very pleased that some of our members were involved in the serch on the Saturday night. The chairman of WilSAR stated that a undoubtedly a life was saved that night" |
