Berkshire Search and Rescue, searching for vulnerable adults and missing children in Berkshire. Members of ALSAR.

Last Thursday Berkshire Lowland Search & Rescue (SEBEV) was visited by 30 officers from Thames Valley Police on their team training day. The team, consisting of PCSOs and Police Officers from Bracknells Neighbourhood Policing Team, were visiting to learn more about the work of SEBEV and Lowland SAR teams.

Starting off with a 30minute presentation that outlined the history, purpose and values of SEBEV the officers then divided into 5 smaller teams and rotated through 5 skills bases covering specific skills or services that SEBEV offers.

The 5 basis were Search Management, GPS/Comms/Mapping , Medical Support, Search Skills and Search Dogs. Throughout the evening the officers were enthusiastic and genuinely impressed and surprised by the range of services offered by SEBEV.

Kris Manning, Chairman said "We were delighted to welcome so many officers from Thames Valley Police. The work of Lowland Search & Rescue teams goes largely unnoticed and it can be difficult to get the message out to the public and officers alike that we are here and the work we do. Tonight we got the message out to 30 officers who enjoyed their time with us and will take away a positive message about the work of Lowland SAR teams such as ours"

SEBEV is always pleased to welcome officers from Thames Valley Police. If you would like to arrange a visit to our HQ in Wokingham then just drop an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call us on 03003 210384
