0031.gifSEBEV SAR Training Officer Chris Curry attended the Berkshire Emergency Support Organisations Group (ESOG) meeting on 9 November 2009. ESOG is a sub group of the Berkshire Resilience Forum and meets three times a year. It comprises representatives from the Emergency Planning Office, British Red Cross, Berkshire Religious Groups, St. John Ambulance, WRVS, RAYNET, Berks & Hants 4x4 Group, RSPCA and the Emergency Services.

The function of ESOG is to ensure that in the event of a major incident, there is a clear understanding of how the voluntary services will be activated by the statutory authorities, their resources, skills and appropriate lines of communication. It also provides an opportunity for the voluntary groups to work together as well as participate in exercises.
