Berkshire Lowland Search & Rescue Team (SEBEV)

Specialist volunteer Search & Rescue team Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue (SEBEV) were called out last night to assist Thames Valley Police with the search for a missing Reading man William Deadfield, missing since 1845hrs on Monday 24th October.
The team were called at around 2200hrs responded with a large number of personnel, search managers and the teams specially equipped search control vehicle with more members attending as the incident progressed. SEBEV SAR also requested assistance from Berkshire Search Dogs, Oxfordshire Search & Rescue Team, Surrey Search & Rescue and Lowland Search Dogs Bucks and Chiltern.
Mr Deadfield was eventually located by a member of his family in the early hours of Tuesday morning and returned to his care home. All search teams were stood down at around 0230hrs that morning.
Kris Manning, Team Chairman said “We were very concerned for the welfare of Mr Deadfield as the weather was deteriorating and time is the most important factor in a missing person search. Our teams searched a huge area of Reading and we were delighted when Mr Deadfield was eventually located safe and well”

All of SEBEVs members are unpaid volunteers who are highly trained in the latest search techniques, casualty care, search management and much more.
