Lowland SAR Technician (SAR TECH)

This is the first stage of operational service within SEBEV, Members in this role have attended the SAR Tech course either internally or with a member team of ALSAR. The 2010 SEBEV Lowland SAR Technician course can be found here

 

Lowland SAR Team Leader (SAR TL)

Once a member has achieved SAR TECH status they can go on to become a SAR Team Leader. The SAR TL is responsible for a single search team whilst deployed including navigation.

 

Lowland Search Controller (SAR SC)

The Search Controller is responsible for the deployment of Lowland SAR resources as well as planning of search areas and all paperwork. The Search Controller is usually based at the Forward Control Point or bronze/silver command location.

 

Search Manager (SAR SM)

Members in this role have either attended the MRC Bangor Search managers course or the SM course run by the ERI. This involves advanced levels of search theory taught to international standards. Many POLSAs (Police Search Advisors) are qualified to Search Manager level.

 

First Aider

SEBEV First Aiders are all trained in First Aid at Work or Public First Aid as a minimum and all are receive additional training in the use of Oxygen and Defibrillation (AED) Some of our members are also Communitty First Responders or work in the medical event industry and some hold wilderness medical certifications.

All training is delivered by external training partners.

 

SEBEV Support

Not all our members are operational. All non operational members are deemed to be support and apart from attending training also assist on events, administration and fundraising. Some of our members join solely to assist us in the running of the team.
