SEBEV Search and Rescue is a founder member team of the Association of Lowland Search and Rescue (ALSAR)
ALSAR is the umbrella organisation for Lowland SAR teams in the UK providing coordination of Lowland SAR provision in the UK, setting and maintaining standards of operation and competency and developing SAR nationally.
ALSAR defines minimum levels of training for the various SAR roles as well as fostering and maintaining relationships with its peer organisations such as the MREW, Lowland Search Dogs and many other.
ALSAR is a member of the UK Search & Rescue Operators Group.
A Search and Rescue volunteer is a person who, of their own free will, gives their time, effort and skill to lifesaving search and rescue operations without expectation of profit, and as part of an organisation recognised by the statutory authorities
There are presently 15 established and a number of probationary units within ALSAR with approximately 500 trained Search Technicians. All units train to a common syllabus with many teams developing ideas and concepts unique to their geographical location.
